Eric Lane - Head Coach Gerry Lane Enterprises

Louisiana native Eric Lane will take over as the head coach of the returning Gerry Lane Enterprises team in 2011. Eric was a catcher at Tulane from 1980-1983. During his collegiate career he was selected twice in the Major League Baseball amateur draft, by the Texas Rangers in the 8th round of the 1982 draft and by the San Francisco Giants in the 9th round of the 1983 draft. Eric also earned multiple collegiate awards including MVP of the Metro Conference in 1982 and MVP of the Easter Classic ULM tournament in 1983.

After college Eric went on to play 4 years of professional baseball. Eric spent these 4 years in the minor leagues from rookie ball to AAA. Eric spent time in both the San Francisco Giants and Cleveland Indians organizations.

Today Eric is the Vice-President of Gerry Lane Enterprises. He wears many hats for the family business and the entire family thrives on the healthy competition between the Chevrolet, Buick-GMC, Saab-Mitsubishi, and Cadillac stores. Eric's customers range from his Tulane baseball fans and friends to San Francisco Giants coaches and players. Eric is active in a number of organizations and holds daily meetings at each of the dealerships to keep things in check. Eric will be assisted in 2011 by coaches Lawrence Callender and Larry Faucheux.

Brandon Hollis - Head Coach 3S Swing

Brandon Hollis is a native of Waverly Hall, Ga (Columbus/Fort Benning). He was a two sport standout at Harris Co. High School (football and baseball). Brandon graduated high school with honors in 2001. After his senior baseball campaign, he was selected to the GACA All-State Team, Team Georgia (Alternate), Academic All-State, and First Team All-Region. Amid offers of playing college football, Brandon decided to attend Division II Paine College in Augusta, Ga and major in Biology. Brandon was named Team Captain and helped Paine win the SIAC Conference Championship in 2005. Brandon graduated with his B.S. in Biology/Pre-Professional in May 2006.

After promising showcase/tryout performances for the Atlanta Braves and Florida Marlins, Brandon decided to pursue his graduate education. After receiving a Graduate Assistantship, Brandon attended the University of Louisville (Louisville, KY) and worked in the Department of Health and Sport Sciences. While living in Louisville, Brandon played in the River/Derby City Baseball League. Brandon graduated with his M.S. in Exercise Physiology in August 2008.

Brandon is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Kinesiology at Louisiana State University. Brandon has excelled in the RSABL for the past two seasons. He is a 2nd year coach in the RSABL Summer Collegiate League.

Chris Owens - Head Coach Southern Recycling

Chris Owens will be taking over as Head Coach of the Southern Recycling team this season. Chris is a 2004 graduate of Live Oak High School. During his varsity career at Live Oak, Chris was a 3 time all-district player and helped Live Oak to 3 consecutive district championships.

After high school Chris pitched at Bossier Parish Community College from 2004-2006. He received multiple offers to continue his collegiate career but was sidelined by a knee injury and inherent ACL surgery. Chris went on to take General Studies at Southeastern Louisiana University.

Since college Chris has remained active in baseball as a player, coach, and umpire. Chris has competed in the amateur division of the RSABL for 4 years, earning league MVP honors in 2009. Chris was an assistant coach at Live Oak High School in 2008 and coached the Post 76 American Legion team in 2009. Chris also helps coach and coordinates traveling amateur tournament teams from the RSABL. In addition to playing and coaching, Chris has also been a certified high school and college umpire throughout South Louisiana since 2007.

Chris resides in Walker, LA with his 10 year old daughter Alexis, where he is the owner of a lawnscape and cleaning business.
